In her latest project ‘Somewhere in the Middle’, Van Assche takes us to an America full of contrasts, where the line between reality and absurdity is blurred.
 
With her keen eye, she shows a society where the American Dream is both celebrated and criticised by those who live in the middle of it. They tell of building something out of nothing and the constant struggle to maintain it.
